About

Korea Without Korean is a practical guide for travelers and newcomers who want to get around Korea without speaking Korean.

I'm a Korean local. Every guide here comes from things I have actually done or checked myself: calling a taxi with Kakao T, finding my way with Naver Map, paying with a transit card, getting a table at a busy restaurant. Apps and rules in Korea change often, so each post shows the date it was last checked.

What you'll find here:

- Getting Around: subway, buses, taxis and airport transfers

- Apps & Payments: Naver Map, Kakao T, transit and payment cards

- Food: ordering, waiting lists and convenience stores

- Events & Deals: festivals and discounts for foreign visitors, updated monthly

- AI Travel Posters: Korean cities drawn in folk-art poster styles, with the prompts used to make them

Images in the AI Travel Posters section are AI-generated and labeled as such. Photos in the guides are my own.
